We are a charity run by a management committee of volunteer parents and five fantastic playleaders. We provide pre-school education for children aged between 2 1/2 years to 5 years and follow the Cirriculum for Excellence programme as laid down by the Scottish Government.
Our aim is provide our children with the best possible early years experience in an informal, fun way by learning through play. We are open between 8.45am and 3.00pm for part time and full time sessions.
Role Play - sometimes a kitchen, bedroom, station or cafe, for example. Hairdressing is always popular too!
Reading - there is a quiet area with comfy beanbags for choosing and looking at books or listenind to a story
Puzzles, games and writing materials - we always have jigsaws, puzzles and a big selection of games and writing materials.
Dress up and imaginative play - always popular and we have an enviable variety of dressing up clothes and accessories and mirrors.
Physical play - We have a large hall with lots of space for running, climbing, jumping and developing our physical skills. We also dance, sing and move to music.
Arts and crafts - encourages children to choose, explore and be creatie using a range of tools and equipment.
Messy play - a selection of sand, water, shaving gel and other messy material is offered for some playtime fun!
Constructive play - we have a wide range of playkits, small and large, building blocks and materials.
Small World - we have a range of playsets to develop communication and encourage imaginative play.
Outdoors - we have regular planned sessions at a nearby park and we get to explore our local comunity and environment with walks and visits to local cafes, shops, businesses and bus trips to the library.
Snack - children are fully involved in organising, preparing and serving their healthy snack in our child-friendly ktichen area. We also make our own playdough and do some baking.
