Midstocket playgroup is a registered Scottish Charity (SCO14535), run by a Management Committee of dedicated volunteer parents, employing four fantastic playleaders.  We provide pre-school education for children aged between 2 and a half and five years and follow the Curriculum for Excellence programme as laid down by the Scottish Government.  Our aim is to provide our children with the best possible early years experience in an informal, fun way by learning through play.  Parents are a great asset to our playgroup, and provide invaluable help at our sessions on a rotational basis.

Playgroup is registered by the Care Inspectorate, who carry out an annual inspection. We are also inspected by HMIe approximately every three years and are members of the Scottish Pre School Play Association. As we are a Partner Provider with the Local Education Department of Aberdeen City Council, pre-school education funding is available but we also offer non-funded places.

Running costs not covered by funding and fees are raised through fundraisers such as our Jumble Sale, Christmas Hamper raffle, sponsored obstacle course, internet -based donations and other fun activities. See our Support Us page for more information.

We have an enviable amount of equipment for play, both indoors and out; climbing equipment, a play kitchen and dressing up, to name but a few. We get creative with arts and craft work, enjoy storytelling and singing, and have numerous games, puzzles and toys.
